Cradled in the Pilanesburg National Park lies the laissez-faire and cavalier Cabanas Hotel. The Cabanas hotel opens onto lush gardens leading down to the lake and Waterworld with its lakeside beach. With an abundance of wide open spaces catering for family vacations the 380 bedroom Cabanas Hotel offers ample, reasonably priced accommodation for overflow rooms for large conferences. The Sun City Cabanas are built on two levels with rooms on the ground floor and first floors. The rooms are located in seven "blocks" situated around the main reception and restaurant area.
The versatile Cabanas hotel offers 380 Cabanas, 2 restaurants, 2 bars, swimming pool, gift shop, beach shop, health spa and gym, Waterworld, mini golf, animal world and birds of prey display, Kamp Kwena, trampolines, Bumper Boats and Finders Keepers, jogging trails, squash, spinning studio, tennis courts, bowling green, access to conference facilities, golf courses and much more.
Each of the 380 Cabanas exudes an atmosphere of rest and relaxation and are divided as follows:
- 24 - Standard Lake Facing Rooms
- 120 - Standard Twin Rooms
- 32 - Family Lake Facing Rooms
- 201 - Standard Family Rooms
- 3 - Paraplegic Rooms
Standard Cabanas offer accommodation for a maximum of two people and offer spectacular views of the Waterworld and lush garden surroundings. Family Cabanas accommodate a maximum of two adults and two children under 18 years of age. Ground floor Cabanas offers sliding door access to the outdoor areas with loungers on hand for sun tanning. The Cabana decor emanates soft hues with tropical nuances echoing the tranquil leisurely feel of the resort.

The Famous Butcher's Grill restaurant invites residents to enjoy sumptuous steaks and grills. Palm Terrace, set amidst the lush garden greenery offers daily breakfast and dinner buffets. Overlooking the swimming pool, offering light snacks and exotic cocktails is the Pool Bar. The Treasure Island Snack Bar is open daily for sandwiches and snacks, for those wishing to take a break from the plethora of activities on offer.
Conferencing
The Cabanas Hotel does not host its own conference facilities, however due to its location, provides access to The Entertainment Centre Convention Centre and the famed Hall of Treasures and Exhibition Centre as well as all conference and meeting facilities on the Complex.
Group and Conference Delegates have access to the following Services:
- Business Centre (situated on the lower level of the Entertainment Centre)
- Secretarial and general services (including transcription/Dictaphone, word processing, editing and printing)
- Communication services
- Desktop publishing
**** Where groups have 10 rooms or more on the resort, the conference room, office or breakaway room is complimentary and a lunch/dinner Venue is also provided free of charge, with exception of special venues. With the exception of and office or one breakaway room, any Additional rooms required for exhibitions, offices, storage, press and hospitality areas will be charged at standard room hire rates.
